The ASD Class at Our Lady’s Secondary School was established in 2014. It caters for 6 students with a second class due to open in 2017. In the ASD Class in Our Lady’s we strive to maximise each student’s learning potential. The aim of the ASD class is to ensure each student will benefit from an integrated and inclusive education. The ASD Class provides the structure and support necessary to ensure each student maximises his/her participation in mainstream. It offers a place of calm, clarity and predictability to ensure school-related anxiety is reduced. In addition to maximising each student’s participation in mainstream some students have the opportunity to engage in small practical classes such as Home Economics, Woodwork and Art. All students benefit from an Education Programme that is tailored to their individual needs.

St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patrick’s Day in Our Lady’s is a day characterised by colour, creativity and community. Preparations for our parade entry begin well in advance of the day. In 2016 the task of designing and building the float fell largely to our Transition Year students. The experience afforded our young designers, carpenters, artists, and seamstresses an opportunity to hone their skills as they recreated the GPO. The day itself saw a large number of our junior students take to the streets adorned in the attire of 1916. There was, as always, widespread praise for our wonderful musicians and singers who entertained the crowd with renditions of many old favourites.
The St. Patrick’s Day parade is just another example of the admirable relationship that exists between Our Lady’s and the local community.
