Leaving Certificate Applied is a two year Leaving Certificate available to students who wish to follow a programme with a strong practical and vocational emphasis.
The programme is designed to allow students to apply the learning and experiences they gain over the two years to practical educational tasks at school, in the workplace and in the wider community.
In Our Lady’s the Leaving Certificate Applied students attend work experience every Wednesday. This weekly activity helps students prepare for adult and working life.
Students who participate in the Leaving Certificate Applied programme in Our Lady’s have sole use of a base classroom which is equipped with laptops for each individual.
Leaving Certificate Applied students in Our Lady’s are actively involved in school life and have assisted in the construction of the St Patricks Day float, as well as the sets for the school musical.
Students go on a number of educational and recreational excursions each year to facilitate the completion of their course. Recent trips include visits to; Dublin, Limerick, The Source, Thurles, Birr Outdoor Education Centre, laser tag, ice skating and go karting.
